Weight Loss Injections

Important Information: Weight Loss Injections in Scotland

In Scotland, GPs cannot prescribe or advise on weight loss injections
These medicines can only be prescribed and monitored by a private prescriber or secondary care specialist

What this means for you:

  • Please do not contact your GP to ask if these medicines are suitable for you.
  • Suitability will be assessed by the pharmacist or private company providing the medication.
  • Our practice will not provide letters for companies about your suitability.

Medical history requests:

  • We can provide a summary of your medical history if requested by the company.
  • You must provide a signed consent form to allow us to share your information.
  • Important: Supplying a medical summary does not mean a GP or clinician has confirmed that this treatment is safe for you.
