We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager to work in a thriving medical practice in the stunning Cairngorms National Park.
We are a successful Highland practice, and are fortunate to be one of the few practices in the country who don’t struggle with Dr recruitment. We consider ourselves to be a forward thinking and innovative practice, delivering high quality patient care in a rural setting. Our practice is unique in many ways - we operate a designated casualty unit which provides A&E cover for locals and the many visitors to our area. In addition to the General Medical Services and A&E work we operate a drop in sexual health clinic and enjoy working with many different visiting specialities who work from the Aviemore Health Centre.
We feel privileged to be located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and our staff are positive about making the most of living in a location rich with outdoor adventures. We have a very team focussed culture, where staff are typically long serving, and we are more community than business focussed when it comes to our patients. This is a culture that we are proud of and are looking for a PM that will reflect this, and have the ability to help us develop further.
On the horizon, we are very excited about the prospect of moving to a new purpose built NHS community hospital and primary care centre in the next two years.
The finer detail:
- 5500 registered patients
- 1000 temporary patients/year
- Over 2000 A&E attendances/year
- 7 GP Partners, 2 Practice Managers, 11 Practice Administrators, 2 Practice and A&E Nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants
- Training practice commitments include ST3, ST1, FY2 and Medical Students
- Provide GP input to attached A&E unit
- Previously high QOF achievement
- Vision and Docman
- 5 weeks annual leave + 8 public hols
The successful candidate must have proven management experience, specifically in managing a budget in excess of £500,000 per annum, or direct line responsibility for 8 or more staff. You will need to have had experience in negotiating contracts, and overseeing IT hardware & software purchases and implementation. You should have had a lead role in setting the culture of your organisation. An understanding of the health industry would be beneficial.
