Medical Receptionist Modern Apprentice

Contract: Fixed Term - 24 months
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Monday – Friday
5 days 8.30 – 5pm
Salary:  £13,650 (£7.00 per hour, dependent on performance, to increase with quarterly increments, to reach an expected £9.00 per hour by end of 2 years)

Aviemore Medical Practice is seeking a highly motivated Modern Apprentice to learn the role of Medical Receptionist.  Over the 2 years you will gain your SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration through the UHI.  Most of the training will be on the job, but there will be a requirement to attend night classes in Inverness once a week during term time.  You will need to be able to arrange your own transport to attend these classes.  Regular study time will be provided during work hours to help you complete your portfolio of evidence. 

Our Practice

Aviemore Medical practice is a friendly seven doctor medical practice offering medical services for residents and visitors to Aviemore and the surrounding areas. We feel privileged to work in an area of outstanding natural beauty - the stunning Cairngorms National Park.

Our practice is unique in many ways - we operate a designated casualty unit which provides A&E cover for locals and the many visitors to our area. In addition to the General Medical Services and A&E work we operate a drop in Sexual Health Clinic and enjoy working with many different visiting specialities who work from the Aviemore Health Centre. On the horizon, we are very excited about the prospect of moving to a new purpose built site in the next few years.

You will need at least three National 5’s (Intermediate 2’s) at C or higher including English, Maths and one other.
